Shakeup in Education Cartel as Reading Test Scores Show Improvement

GLOBAL OVERLORDS are up in arms over the latest SAT scores, which unexpectedly showed improvement in the Critical Reading category.
"This trend will not be allowed to continue," assured newly appointed Education Cartel Head Honcho Lord Manley Mindleach.
"We believe the upward trend may be related to a dangerous new fad among teens to sneak into the basements of school libraries and steal unapproved and discontinued reading materials," said Mindleach. "This contraband is then exchanged among members of a secretive nationwide teen gang calling themselves the 'Fahrenheit 451 Club'."
Mindleach explained that special teams of unemployed teachers have been deployed to assist in the resolution of this urgent problem.
The teachers will be sent to the basements of high schools everywhere to pack up the unapproved books and haul them to incineration centers for disposal. The Education Cartel has contracted with hundreds of crematories throughout the country especially for that purpose.
Mindleach cautioned parents to be on the lookout for suspicious reading-related behavior in their teens, such as using big words, quoting obscure authors, or expressing an interest in writing for any reason other than required homework.
"Any reading of hard-copy books by teens is considered highly suspicious and warrants further investigation," cautioned Mindleach. ***
